Welcome students, families, alumni, and friends of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and all of you who are
visiting this website for the first time! We are a private, Catholic, (Pre K - 8) elementary school serving the
greater Daytona Beach, Florida area (including Ormond Beach, Holly Hill, South Daytona, Port Orange, and
Ponce Inlet). The school community is a primary ministry of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. We are a dedicated
group of faculty, students, and parents who are committed to our goal "Educating the Minds While Touching
the Hearts" of our students and to build future leaders with respect for others.
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Daytona Beach, Florida has a 50-year tradition of excellence in
education and we continue to uphold the traditions of the past while looking towards the future. Our mission is to
assist the parent in educating their student while preparing the student to develop as a witness to his/her
Catholic faith by living according to Christian standards. This describes our dedication to each child entrusted
to our care.
We believe in teaching the "whole child". We attend to our students' spiritual development in all areas of
learning: academic, spiritual, social, physical, and emotional. We encourage our students' love of music,
drama, art, and athletics. Our goal is that our graduates will grow to be well rounded, contributing members of
society.
In the fall of 2006, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School was given the honor of being named a "Blue Ribbon
School of Excellence" by the Department of Education in Washington, D.C. Only 50 non-public schools in the
nation received this honor. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School qualified for "Blue Ribbon" status based on
our ITBS test scores, placing our students in the top 10% of the country.
We especially enjoy the feeling of community you experience when you visit our school. Many of our families
are alumni whose children and grandchildren attend our school. In fact, several of our teachers and assistants
have graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes. Here at Lourdes, we consider ourselves to be family to one another!
