Our smaller environment is conducive to the strong sense of community fostered in the peaceful,
Christ-centered environment at Lourdes Academy. Our school was named a "Blue Ribbon School of
Excellence" by the United States Department of Education in the fall of 2006. We were only one of 50
non-public schools in the nation to receive this honor. Lourdes Academy was able to qualify for "Blue
Ribbon" status because of our students ITBS test scores, placing our school in the top 10% of the
country.
Our school follows the curriculum of the Diocese of Orlando, which is based upon the Florida Sunshine
State Standards, and is fully accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference. All of our teachers are not
only qualified and certified but highly dedicated, continually updating their expertise as educational
professionals. In addition, our school is also known for its academic excellence, mission outreach,
outstanding standardized test scores, continuing pursuit of technological expertise, awards, art, music,
drama, literary accomplishments, and athletic achievements. There is strong evidence of the spirit of
commitment to the social justice teachings of the Church, and an emphasis on service and generosity to
others, both locally and globally. Graduates of Lourdes Academy excel in high school, whether it is at
Father Lopez Catholic High School or the International Baccalaureate Program at Spruce Creek High
School.
